after effects

today we finish a week of AFTER EFFECTS. here is one of the fantastic films i made ;)

midway test

in february we had a midway test. the assignment was to make BERNARD from disney's THE RESCUERS to either pull or push a cup to the fruit bowl and make him climb into the bowl, and the animation should be no longer than 5 seconds. I got the push and this is my test:

la poudrière

in our 3 weeks of FLASH we did a project with the french director school LA POUDRIÈRE. the project was for them to make an animated tv series based on a children's book, and our job was to make some test animation with the characters. Here is one of the two i did. The story is about birds, and this bird's name is Puffin.

FLASH

we almost just finished a couple of weeks learning FLASH, and this is my first flash animation. i could of course work a lot more with it to make it better, but i think it's fun as it is right now.

more skarresø

this is a drawing of another photo from the weekend. i thought it would be good practice to try something with more depth, but i dont know how well i succeded. i'll have to look at it more. and in a way it feels very busy, but on the other hand i dont feel it's that bad. sorta chaotic, perhaps. and it was fun to just go crazy with shadows and lights.

my first skarresø adventure.

last weekend i went with alexander to kalø, djursland.

villads, natascha, and me gardening.

alexander, niels, me and yousef in the night when the giant fire was now just a small pile of glowing embers. and alexander's chair disappeared in the coloring process, it seems.

normally i dont draw these kind of "picture drawings" with photos as reference (otherwise i could just take a photo) but this one of daniel's photos wanted to be drawn.
villads and me talking while watching the giant fire.

last friday carina, kristoffer and i went to see wolverine. the best day ever to invite me to the cinema. thank you.

animation jam 2

these two weeks we've been working on a new animation jam. (of which 3 days were spent on animating) the class was divided into 8 groups, and i was together with jody and mikkel.v. Like last time, we randomly got a location and an emotion, and ours were "nervous, jumpy" and "on the moon". the project was done in tv paint, and like last time the time limit was 30 seconds.

the whole film will be uploaded later, because it takes like a million years to upload videos and the final one is pretty big, so i'll do that some other time.

these are some still images from the scenes i animated.

oh and btw i did the cinema-background, mikkel.v did all the watercolours and jody did all the on-the-moon-backgrounds.

these are the scenes i did.

forgot to export the sound of the dog barking in the one below, though.

just for fun, i made a cleaned up version of this scene, just to see what it would look like. did it a bit fast, not bothering too much to make it pretty, took me max 2 hours. (clean line and new colour)

tv paint dance

this is a dance project we did some weeks ago in tv paint. the song i chose is "a lung" by The Knife. i got a little too ambitious i think, and in the end i had to cut off some of the dance, because it was too much to deal with in those two weeks. And maybe i've just stared at it for too long, but i still think something's not working quite as well as i wanted it to.

But it was really fun, and i love tv paint!

easter saray.

visiting sara in the easter break. she painted some furniture while i drew her :)

wreath of flowers.

today keld and i made wreaths of flowers while taking a break from the clean up class. sunny day!

the kidney licker.

okay. actually i'm not sure precisely where this idea came from, but we were talking about arna's illness (she was put in hospital because of a kidney disease) and somehow the joke of a kidney licker arose. and i wanted to draw it :)

i think it's.. pretty gross. drawing it was gross. researching for reference materials was gross.. haha. but i just loved the idea! so i had to do it anyway. and it was quite interesting to draw surgery-hospital-environment, i've never drawn doctors and such before.

the colouring technique might be changed. i dont know. in a way i like it this way, but on the other hand i think it's way too "the paint bucket in photoshop is my best friend" - but it IS after all done with the paint bucket, as well as all my other drawings always are. i would like to colour in different ways. But my wacom is 300 kms away, so this was all i could do for now.

people.

Actually the point of making this drawing was to try to explore different character designs because i feel my imagination concerning that is a bit limited, and since this looks like what i normally do, i dont feel i succeeded. this wasnt really what i was searching for.. but i liked drawing it anyway :) And i also wanted to do an a3-drawing (since i normally work on a5), and that part went as planned.

croquis 23032009

evening croquis at my school again.

breakfast

Since i've lost track of time lately, i do not remember when i drew this. I dont remember when i last drew anything that wasnt school related, but it feels like a very long time ago. But anyway, this one is a part of a small series of people eating breakfast.
