just a quick little drawing to accompany a song my mother did for my cousin when he turned 30. the melody is a danish children's song about an elephant in an attic who rides a bike very elegantly.

week 37: NOODLE MONSTER

back in school and back to the WEEKLY DRAWING. i hope it will be more weekly this year..
though i am not particularly inspired by/fond of monster themes, i thought this one was pretty fun and i really enjoyed working on this. i am quite pleased with it.

wedding.

i got a commision from one of my friends, whose sister is getting married tomorrow. this is what i did:

1st year exams.

my first 1st year exam, june 2009. the character is TILLY from CATS DON'T DANCE - eat the pie, realize it's bad, spit it out - 5 seconds. with 39/80 points  i was 1 point from passing - below is the test:

so here in early august (deadline yesterday) we took our re-exam. (the same assignment as before) it was a horrible day yesterday, waiting for the results today - but i passed! with 59/80 points this time! so i am just so happy it cannot be described, and here below is the new test:

today we finish a week of AFTER EFFECTS. here is one of the fantastic films i made ;)

midway test

in february we had a midway test. the assignment was to make BERNARD from disney's THE RESCUERS to either pull or push a cup to the fruit bowl and make him climb into the bowl, and the animation should be no longer than 5 seconds. I got the push and this is my test:

la poudrière

in our 3 weeks of FLASH we did a project with the french director school LA POUDRIÈRE. the project was for them to make an animated tv series based on a children's book, and our job was to make some test animation with the characters. Here is one of the two i did. The story is about birds, and this bird's name is Puffin.

we almost just finished a couple of weeks learning FLASH, and this is my first flash animation. i could of course work a lot more with it to make it better, but i think it's fun as it is right now.

this is a drawing of another photo from the weekend. i thought it would be good practice to try something with more depth, but i dont know how well i succeded. i'll have to look at it more. and in a way it feels very busy, but on the other hand i dont feel it's that bad. sorta chaotic, perhaps. and it was fun to just go crazy with shadows and lights.
