the daily doodle challenge.

I forgot to bring my coloured pencils with me to norway, so i bought some new ones. It turned out to be a happy misfortune since i think these are the best coloured pencils i've ever had :)

carina suggested that we should draw something every day and send a photo to each other of the drawing - here are two of them :)

wow, that was exhausting... made for the TAW-monkey theme "face in the crowd" and this is not at all how i envisioned it to be. and as you might notice i got a little lazy.. i like it, though. but i've never been so energy-drained from colouring a drawing before. i think it's movie watching time.

time travel.

a little piece for TAW-monkey's current theme ''time traveller'' - i have two other themes on paper, but it's not so easy to get them scanned at the moment, and also i keep forgetting to bring them to work (where the scanner is). Consequently this is done in photoshop-tvpaint-photoshop-tvpaint-photoshop (...). with my tiny A6 tablet, haha. drawing everything digitally is so time consuming!

Norwegian forest world.

Last sunday Kajsa invited me to join her family on a trip to the forest, and it was lovely! we walked from Frognerseteren to Skjennungstua and back again. These photos don't really capture exactly how beautiful and wonderful everything was - but i wanted to share them anyway :) I want to live in this forest! And there should be a river, like the one that flows through Oslo, and with a lot of amazing colourful fish! and i would lie beside it every night and listen to the water's trickling.

it's a total win when one figures out how to export the right format from adobe premiere. this time it only took me 40 minutes! :D this is my updated showreel - now featuring shots from my graduation film (væsen) and music!

a little news update!

as you see, i recently redesigned the layout of my blog. (i was getting so terribly tired of the black background it had before)

also, i just added a new feature that allows one to follow my blog updates via email. i added the same feature to TAW-monkey and signed up to try it out, and it works :) you get an email with the post sent directly into your internetty mailbox.

and i have been wondering why everyone loves tumblr so much for quite some time now, so i decided to make one myself as i was going to create a new blog anyway, because i want to keep this one as it is. on this tumblr. -site you will find links to creative sites i find interesting and links to artists i get inspiration from, and other stuff. (for the moment it consists mainly of links to places like "illustration friday", but more will come :) )

next week i will update my animation showreel, so you can look forward to that :) and currently i am working on a little film on my own, but it's too early in the process to post about it yet. and as i wrote on my portfolio site, i will this fall be interning at the studio Mikrofilm in Norway, which i am very excited about!

one more drawing for TAW-monkey - also an old theme :) it is my goal to get some of those done, that i always wanted to draw but either didnt have the time to do or the right idea for. i tried to experiment with only using variations of 'red' in this one, but somehow the orange yellow found its way in as well! well, orange is also a friend of red, in a way :)

hejhej væsen-room!

You know the end will come one day, but sometimes it takes you by surprise anyway. I just finished cleaning my desk at school - saying goodbye to our little Væsen Home, so difficult to leave that place - missing our little væsen world and our little væsen family so much already!

poster for a bachelor concert.

a long time ago i agreed to do a poster for my friend, Kristine Hanskov. She studies classical double bass at the Danish Academy of Music on her 3rd year, and her bachelor exam is a concert - for which she needs a poster and a printed list of what she is going to play. I did 95 % of the line drawing a month ago, and finished it this weekend. In the end she also needed a postcard, which i made quite similar to the cover of the programme, since the amount of text was more or less the same.

a tiny update

Here are some more drawings from the preproduction of our bachelor film, Væsen. the first one is a turnaround of the king's head that i did based on a crown design Adrian did, and a king face design that Jody did.



These next ones are the designs i did for the deer antlers and the prince's inside princy wear, when we see him in the beginning of the film. Quite unfortunately, we came to a result we liked pretty fast - unfortunate in the sense that i was rather enjoying drawing these intricate and ornate elements! :)

and we modified the prince's design a bit (back to the original idea) - this is a new turnaround of him, with his fancy inside princy clothes.
