instead of cleaning the growing pile of dirty kitchen stuff, i decided to draw it.

and then i drew a part of the livingroom

and then i looked through my itunes library and found a song called "la belle et la bête" and i had a sudden urge to draw the beauty and the beast, and started out with that thought in mind but ended up with some kind of a tree people.. sleepy.. icecream.. thing.

wuthering heights

i was trying to read WUTHERING HEIGHTS by emilie brontë, but after reading 40 pages or so i decided to wikipedia the book, and although i already knew the story was pretty depressing from the beginning, i'm just not in the mood for that amount of depression right now.
but that doesnt mean i'm not in the mood for fan art :D so this is in the beginning where mr. lockwood visits wuthering heights and invites himself for tea in a house that doesnt particularly welcome visitors.


ehm.. and i didnt really know what i was aiming for, when i made this - which makes drawing a drawing pretty difficult! so i started out with a pencil drawing, and while i put on some of the colours i turned off the layer with the pencil lines.. and i thought it was interesting.. but then i didnt know how to do the lines, because it always looks horrible when i try to draw in photoshop - but i tried anyway - learning by doing, as they say.. haha, not very succesful. i love the background, though!

second year midway test

last week we had our midway test on second year, and the rig we used was a brand new one called LEROY and it had never been used before = no testing = A LOT of bugs! so i spent the first two days trying to solve a problem with the rig that i was unable to solve. pretty annoying. but it was fixed, and the last three days were fine - except 5 days were now 3 days. having 4 weeks of resting time has been very beneficial for my arm though, and it is almost back to normal - or at least i can animate for 6 hours a day now, which is a major improvement nonetheless.

parkour

for two weeks just before christmas last year, we did an action scene, and the theme was 'parkour'. i'd never heard of parkour before this assignment and i think it's awesome! though because my tennis elbow was still bugging me a lot and i was away for a couple of days, i was only able to do one small jump, and it isnt even very good... :( but since my box lift assignment (which we did before this) is basically only keys, i will post this instead.

celery fingers.

my fingers carried the smell of celery all night, so i pondered the idea of having celery fingers. and i was just experimenting, trying to colour a quick pencil drawing to see what would come of it - haha! parts of it went well, though, i think.

yesterday evening i tried drawing with a black coloured pencil, and it is funny how the materials affect the style. i am continuing the fan art for a bit, and this is a harry potter fan art. i think fan art is fascinating - mostly because i love seeing different interpretations of the same things.
